8 days and counting!

We are counting down the days. This has been a long journey and we are truly about to embark on the most exiting part. There are so many emotions that we are going thru.

Words cannot express how much we appreciate all those that have helped us reach this point in our lives. Whether you gave money, prayed for us or offered words of encouragement you will always be a part of this true blessing.

Thank you and God bless!

Come be part of a true blessing!

Come be part of a true blessing!

Please help fund the adoption of James and Penny Holcombe’s child. He is an orphan in Ukraine.

At the age of 16 the Ukrainian children are turned out of the orphanages and put on the street. They become homeless and turn to a life of crime and drugs just to survive. Please be a part of rescuing our child.

Please help! We are short on funds and will be leaving in August. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Please come to Faith Worship Center 505 West Main St., Glencoe, AL on July 18th at 6pm for a benefit concert and dinner.

A special thanks to our Pastor, Mark Gidley, Mercy and Bridge Between!
To all who give, may God richly bless you!

We Have An Appointment!

Praise God! We have great news. We received a phone call this week and we will be leaving for Ukraine on or around August 16, 2008. Our appointment is on August 18th.

Please continue to pray for us. We are praying that everything goes smooth with our flight arrangements. As time draws closer I will give more updates. God is so good.

Dossier Finally Submitted!

Our dossier has finally been submitted to the SDA. It was submitted on May 14th. It has been a long wait but it will be worth it. Right now the average time before families are getting an appointment is 4-5 months from the time their dossier has been submitted. Most likely we will be going in September.

We are praying for God's favor and that we will get our appointment soon. Again, thank you for all your prayers.

The other update is that my nephew was born on April 12th. His name is Jake Lewis. He was named after my father.

Although he had a rough start to life and spent the 1st 3 weeks in the NICU unit, he is now doing great. God really did a miracle for him. Everyday God touched him and kept His angels encamped around him.

Update

Well, alot has happened since the last time we posted a blog. The 1st thing and most devastating is that my precious daddy went home to be with Jesus. My Dad had been sick for a long time and was tired and ready to go home to heaven. He now has that perfect body and is spending every moment praising the Lord and fellowshiping with all our loved ones and friends that have gone on before us.
The other disappointment is that we just found out our dossier did not get submitted in October. It was such a shock but we realize that everything is in God's timing. Our dossier will get submitted in February. We had to update our medicals and a few other forms. This has been a true test of our faith. We have given everything over to God and are trusting that the reason this happened is that our child is not ready for us to come get him yet. Please pray that as soon as our dossier gets submitted that we will get an appointment very soon. Also pray for the other 2 families whose dossier's did not get submitted either.

Dossier Registered

Our dossier has been translated and is being registered with the SDA in Ukraine. It was turned in to the SDA around October 1st. Now we are waiting for them to accept us and send us an appointment date. Please pray with us that everything will continue to go smooth. We know God's hand is upon our paperwork and we are praying that we will go to Ukraine before December. I know that may be asking a lot but we serve a mighty God and I know that He has answered so many of our prayers already. Thank you for your prayers!!!
